Two New Practice Abstracts Now Online on SPARC
The SPARC project is pleased to release two new Practice Abstracts, available on the official website. These practical documents aim to support farmers and veterinarians in detecting and managing anthelmintic resistance on sheep and goat farms.
Both abstracts highlight the use of the Faecal Egg Count Reduction Test (FECRT) as the easiest and most reliable way to identify possible resistance to anthelmintic drugs. They provide step-by-step guidance on faecal sample collection, diagnostic protocols, and treatment recommendations to avoid underdosing and ensure correct dosage according to animal weight.
The practice abstracts are available in multiple languages (including English and Spanish), reflecting SPARC’s commitment to multilingual knowledge exchange and farmer-friendly resources.
These resources strengthen SPARC’s goal of promoting sustainable parasite control strategies while supporting animal health, productivity, and welfare across Europe.
