The SPARC activities are organised in 6 Work Packages with the following objectives

  1. To create national sector level networks of stakeholders involved in sustainable parasite control
  2. To establish regional and local subnetworks of stakeholders
  3. To establish and maintain relationships with other relevant networks
  1. To identify the needs of farmers, veterinarians, and other stakeholders to achieve sustainable worm control practices in small ruminants and cattle in different epidemiological and management settings
  2. To translate those needs to good practices for sustainable worm control and critically assess them
  3. To validate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of the suggested good practices
  1. To demonstrate sustainable worm control practices in different settings
  2. To improve adoption of sustainable worm control practices using stimulating measures and to adapt sustainable worm control practices based on feedback from end-users
  3. To validate the feasibility, effectiveness and economic return of sustainable worm control practices
  1. To create a knowledge exchange platform (KEP) dedicated to sustainable worm control practices
  2. To develop technical communication and dissemination material for best practice to stakeholders
  3. To collect secondary data and generate a data hub and a WebGIS on helminth infections, anthelmintic resistance and worm control practices
  1. Large scale dissemination of the best practical solutions identified by WP2 and boosting their uptake
  2. Creation of a dedicated website to host SPARC KEP and promote the utilisation of all tools developed in WP4
  3. Ensure the network activities are sustained in a continuous way after the completion of SPARC, by developing an exploitation plan
  1. To ensure effective and efficient management with the consortium in order to deliver a successful project
  2. Administration/finance coordination between partners and stakeholders and coherence between the WPs, including the vision and scientific soundness of the overall methodology
